Sports Blog – 5 December 2016

Information on last week’s sport as follows:

Wednesday 30th November – Beechwood v Oakland’s (Hockey): A good afternoon in cold weather at Beechwood, however unfortunately losing both games on the night to a strong Oakland’s team. The A team lost their game 2-0 with good performances by all the team with very little errors being shown in an end to end game. The B team lost 7-0 to a very strong, well-coached Yr.5 team whereas by comparison we fielded a mixture of year, 3, 4 and 5 pupils. We hope to be playing a return fixture in the new year where we will field two stronger teams.

Thursday 1st December: Beechwood V St Nicholas (Year 5/6 Netball):  Playing against new opposition this year the netball teams….

Friday 2nd December: Six Nations Rugby  Beechwood gained 2nd place in the overall league table this year, an improvement on last year’s 4th position. This will mean we will still play the likes of the Coombes and Rivermead again next term as well as playing new competition against the likes of the Colleton and old foes Oakland’s over the next two rounds set for Spring. On the day Beechwood won three games, lost one and drew one game, finishing on a total score of 45 points. The standard and pace of the rugby being shown on froday was really good to see and the level and expectations for teams is plane to see. A good tournament and day all round.

(Tuesday 6th) Rugby v Aldryngton

(Thursday 8th) Forest Walk – Medenham Forest, Chilterns.
