Beechwood Primary School

Sainsbury’s School Games Football Tournament

It was a good performance from our 3/4 footballers this week at Woodford Park for this year’s Sainsbury’s School Games tournament.

We were missing regular players, due to illness, which did result in two losses and one win.

However we did show improvement each game we played and our first game against Farley Hill was a little rushed with no time to warm up and discuss game play. Farley Hill were the strongest side on the day, but we did improve against Nine Mile Ride having more shots on goal by Alex Calutas and Josh Long, but conceding an early goal from one of NMR’s only two attempts. Our last game against Aldryngton we won convincingly 4-0 with goals from Alex Calutas (3) and Josh Long (1) scoring a well worked goal.

There were really good performances all round with Kielan Sampson playing well in goal; Bethany Rooke, Isla Williams and Ruben Punia playing well in defence and an excellent dribbling and evasion skills being shown by Alex and Josh.

Well done everyone!!!
